Every year, the WIN WIN Gothenburg Sustainability Award arranges and participates in a number of events and activities connected to sustainable development and the theme of the year. Some of them we arrange together with collaborators or partners. If possible, we will live-stream the events so that more people can participate from wherever they are in the world.

Oct 19: Visselblåsare – Från Göteborg till Namibia. Jóhannes is joined by other whistleblowers, all sharing their stories followed by a panel discussion. Held at Stadsbiblioteket, and streamed online. Read more here.
Oct 19-20: Agenda 2030 – Annual conference. Jóhannes will speak on the second day of the conference, discussing how to work against corruption and protect whistleblowers. Register here.

WIN WIN Youth Arena 2021
WIN WIN Youth Arena is an event for young people – by young people. Clothing swap, DJs, corruption-talks over coffee, quiz, art show and more. We want to combine sustainability with culture and meetings. The Youth Arena will be free to attend and will take place on the 22nd of October at Auktionsverket Kulturarena in Gothenburg. Frihamnsdagarna, Bananpiren in Gothenburg (Swedish-speaking event)
Frihamnsdagarna äger rum i Göteborg den 3-4 september och är ett fysiskt evenemang. Det är Sveriges nya arena för fria samtal och vi har fått äran att arrangera en programpunkt med Transparency International Sverige.
Inför vår programpunkt bjuder vi in några representanter från vårt Youth-nätverk för att lyfta globala exempel på korruption kopplat till hållbarhet. Efter det belyser vi frågan ”Finns korruption i Sverige?” – även här i interaktivt format där vi har med oss Transparency International Sverige som expertrådgivare på ämnet. Forum meetup with Agenda 2030 i Väst (Swedish-speaking event)
Agenda 2030 i Väst forumträff om antikorruption, i samarbete med WIN WIN Gothenburg Sustainability Award, onsdag den 21 april.
Hur påverkar korruption våra förutsättningar att nå de Globala målen? Hur kan den motverkas? Och hur kan vi som enskilda aktörer och i samverkan med andra bidra i antikorruptionsarbetet? Det är några av frågeställningarna som diskuteras på denna forumträff. På träffen kommer årets mottagare av WIN WIN Gothenburg Sustainability Award att offentliggöras. Priset delas årligen ut till ett banbrytande initiativ för hållbar utveckling och har i år temat antikorruption. Utöver äran utdelas en prissumma på en miljon kronor. Vid offentliggörandet finns möjlighet att ställa frågor direkt till den ännu hemliga pristagaren.
WIN WIN Youth Arena
On 21 October 2020 WIN WIN Award organised the inaugural WIN WIN Youth Arena, where young people had a place to express themselves in the sustainability debate. The aim was to contribute to encourage participation and commitment as well as to create a bridge between young people and adults, which is why we invite decision-makers, business and academy to have a dialogue and exchange ideas and experience through the WIN WIN Award network.
The event took place at Auktionsverket Kulturarena in Gothenburg on 21 October, in connection with Hållbarhetsfestivalen Västra Götaland (19-25 October) and the WIN WIN Award’s official award ceremony (22 October). Due to covid19 restrictions, we had to limit the number of attendees.
WIN WIN Award Ceremony 2020
2020’s award ceremony took place at the Auktionsverket Kulturarena in Gothenburg on 22 October 2020, following the current restrictions with a maximum of 50 participants.

In addition to the physical ceremony, we offered a virtual award ceremony, where participants could watch the live-streamed event and network with each other in one-on-one meetings. The award ceremony offered presentations by the WIN WIN Award winner IPBES and the WIN WIN Youth Award winner Forested Foods, a panel discussion moderated by science journalist Torgny Nordin, music by Sara Parkman and dance by A Bunda. Guests invited to the WIN WIN Award Ceremony were experts in the field of sustainability, politicians, business executives, academics, members of civil society and the public sector.
Digital Forum Gathering (Swedish-speaking event):
In collaboration with Agenda 2030 i Väst we hosted a digital forum gathering on the theme biodiversity! The main focus was the challenges that production and trade business are facing regarding biodiversity and sustainability initiatives. Through presentations and workshop we learned, discussed and got inspired on how to involve biodiversity in sustainability work. Not to be forgotten, we also got to hear from the winner of the WIN WIN Award 2020 for the first time, IPBES.

Responsible production and consumption, and legal action – Meet Arash Derambarsh
This year’s winner of the WIN WIN Gothenburg Sustainability Award is Mr. Arash Derambarsh will hold a lecture open for the public to present his work on making the French government to pass a law prohibiting supermarkets and other food outlets to throw away edible food. After Mr. Derambarsh’s lecture he will, together with a panel of researchers and students, discuss legal action as a mean to achieve SDG 12. The audience is encouraged to ask questions.

WIN WIN TAKE OVER
We will literally take over Green Corner in Bältesspännarparken for one evening during Gothenburg Culture Festival, with all focus on food waste. Together with different organizations we will arrange workshops, a showcase and a five course tasting menu made of food waste. Seat reservation are mandatory for the dinner.

“Vart tar all mat vägen?” – a seminar about food waste
Tuesday 28th of May we announced this years winner of the WIN WIN Award. The theme of this years award is sustainable food and about 270 nominations from all over the world came in. One of them is the winner. The announcement took place at YESBOX in Gamlestaden, Gothenburg between 11.30 and 12.00 a.m. The winner, Arash Deramarch (France) participated live via FaceTime and answered questions from the audience.
Together with CSR Västsverige and Re:Source we arranged a breakfast seminar at Garveriet in Floda from 9.00 am to 11.30 am. We networked and learned more about how our organisations/businesses could be more innovative, sustainable and circular. The seminare was free of charge and gathered about 60 participants.
The 14th of may our Head of Operations Nathalie Bödtker-Lund participated in Pecha Kucha GBG. She talked about food waste and sustainable food and gave a lot of advise how to reduce food waste at home. The event took place at Park Lane in Gothenburg at 7.30 pm.
During Lund Sustainability Week we will be co-hosting a seminar about sustainable food consumption together with Lund University Sustainability Forum and Lund Municipality.
Lovisa och Staffan from the WIN WIN office visited the Food Tech 2019 event that took place in Örebro in march. Food Tech 2019 is a future oriented cooperation between Alfred Nobel Science Park and DI Digital where the most innovative food tech companies, desicion makers and investors meet up to focus on new digital solutions whitin the business.
Gothenburg Filmfestival, together with WIN WIN Gothenburg Sustainability Award, present SOYALISM with a following Q&A. A classic exploratory documentary revealing how big companies ruthlessly sacrifice the environment to maximize the production chain between soybeans and pork.
After the film screening there will be a Q&A with the directors Enrico Parenti and Stefano Liberti, Johanna Stål (WIN WIN Award) and Marion Bastos Lima (Chalmers).

In 2018 we drew attention to the theme of industrial symbiosis. In connection with the award ceremony, we organised a 2-day conference on industrial symbiosis at the Dome of Visions at Lindholmen in Gothenburg. The first day of the conference, we primarily focused on the construction sector and circular material flows. On the second day of the conference, we discussed opportunities for cooperation and the need for a platform for industrial symbiosis in western Sweden.
Act! Sustainable is an entire week filled with activities and inspiration around sustainable development issues for all university students in Gothenburg! Act! Sustainable is organised by the Gothenburg Centre for Sustainable Development (GMV), in collaboration with the University of Gothenburg, Chalmers University of Technology and Gothenburg Students for Sustainability Alliance (GSSA). We invited students, scientists, industry, politicians and organisations to an afternoon of talks and seminars about industrial symbiosis.
The Swedish Royal Academy of Engineering Sciences (IVA) is an independent academy whose mission is “…to promote the engineering and economic sciences and the advancement of business and industry for the benefit of society.” In September 2018, Emma Dalväg and Nathalie Bödtker-Lund participated in IVA’s workshop Recycling and Industrial Symbiosis within their ReCE (Recycling and Circular Economy) project.
